Home Safe has just been selected as part of the prestigious Manchester Film Festival! It will screen on the 19th of March at the Odeon cinemas in Manchester, in the North West films category.

Home Safe - Milton Keynes Film Festival

Home Safe is selected as part of the Milton Keynes International Film Festival. It will have its Midlands première on the 22nd of December. The film was shot in the Midlands, so it is a special occasion to be able to screen the movie close to so many who worked on this.

Reading Gaol continues its festival success, winning Best Drama at the Harrogate Film Festival. It is always an honour to have the film screen and win in Yorkshire festivals, where the film was made.

For its premiere at Tri Rivers Film Festival, Erena...Our Eritrea was awarded with an Honourable Mention in the Documentary competition and was nominated for Best Film of the Festival. Due to the current pandemic, the festival was held online this year.

NEW FILM! - ERENA...OUR ERITREA

I am proud to announce that my new film and first documentary Erena...Our Eritrea is now completed and ready to start its festival run! The film depicts the daily fight for freedom an Eritrean pirate radio station leads to dismantle the rule of the most oppressive dictatorship in Africa. This film was co-directed with British filmmaker Ellie Hodgetts and was produced by Nova Lux Production.

Indie Shorts Mag publishes its review of Reading Gaol, written by Sristi Gayen. "The film's end is gentle, certainly more so than its opening. As Dewdney narrates a stanza from Wilde's ballad, a sense of sombreness settles over the film, no less pained as its preceding scenes."

Bus Stop Romeo screens at the Everyman Theatre Harrogate as part of the Best Romance competition at the Harrogate Film Festival. For its UK premiere, the film had the chance to screen in Yorkshire where the film was shot (Leeds) in 2018.

Reading Gaol - Screening at the British Museum

Reading Gaol screens at the British Museum as part of the LGBTQ history month. The film was selected amongst two other shorts as part of the film and screening event around this year's theme: Poetry, Prose and Play. The screening was followed by a Q&A with the Reading Gaol team.

Reading Gaol is part of the Official Selection for the Manchester Kinofilm Festival in 2020. More news to come for the official dates of the screenings (postponed because of the Corona virus). Kinofilm Festival is the longest running film festival in Manchester and has showcased many memorable short films over the years.

The international premiere of Reading Gaol will happen at the prestigious Camerimage Film Fesitval, in Torùn, Poland. It is part of the Student Etudes competition and Cinematographer Caleb Deschanel (Lion King, The Right Stuff, Passion of Christ) will be presiding the jury. An immense honour to be part of one of the most important film festival in Europe.
